Three fourths of the original 80's power pop band Smashing Pumpkins are back together and on the road this summer, including a stop in the Twin Cities.

The Pumpkins'' "Shiny And Oh So Bright" Tour, featuring band founder Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, will roll into St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center August 19.

Former bassist D’arcy Wretzky was not included in the announcement. Longtime Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder will also take part in the tour.

In a tweet, the band said they'll celebrate songs from their first five albums, from Gish to Machina. This is the band's first tour since 2000 featuring a majority of original members. "Some 30 years ago, as The Smashing Pumpkins, James Iha and I began a musical journey in the cramped rear bedroom of my Father's house," recalled Corgan. "And so it's magic to me that we're able to coalesce once more around the incredible Jimmy Chamberlin, to celebrate those songs we've made together."
