GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The Ann Bancroft Foundation (ABF) is celebrating more than two decades of helping girls reach their full potential.
Since 1997, ABF has awarded $1,556,847 to 4,203 girls. Officials say the one-time grant makes an immediate and lasting impact in the girls’ lives. ABF grants fund a wide range of activities and experiences from piano lessons to AAU basketball camps to expenses for a trip to Nicaragua.
Foundation executive director Sara Fenlason appeared on KARE 11 News at 11, along with a 16-year-old grant recipient. The two explained the importance of such a gift and the impact it has on the girls and their families.
“Voices 2018”, the annual fundraising celebration is Thursday, April 19 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel at The Depot. The public is invited. Adult tickets start at $125 dollars, children’s tickets at $25 dollars. Table sponsorships are available. Register at annbancroftfoundation.org or by calling (612) 338-5752 ext. 192.
KARE 11 journalist Adrienne Broaddus will emcee the event, which also features live and silent auction opportunities, a cash bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
The Ann Bancroft Foundation inspires and encourages girls to imagine something bigger. ABF strives to build confidence and offer tools that will allow a girl to go after her dreams and feel supported along the way. Through grants, mentorship, and ongoing development opportunities, ABF gives Minnesota girls hope for the future and exemplifies the spirit of explorer and educator, Ann Bancroft, whose leadership, personal and historic achievements have inspired all people to take on new challenges.
