ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild is honoring America’s military by hosting “Hiring Our Heroes", a job hiring expo that takes place Tuesday, February 27th from 9am to 2pm at the Xcel Energy Center.

The nationwide initiative helps veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses find meaningful employment. Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 3 Mark Learned appeared on KARE 11 News at 11 to share his own experience. 3M hired Learned following the 2016 expo.

This year more than 100 local and national companies will be on hand for the event, which includes a 'Career Connections' workshop to teach participants how to create resumes and LinkedIn profiles.

Admission to this event is free and open to active duty service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans and military spouses. Proof of service is required. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. All registered veteran and military spouse job seekers who attend the job hiring expo are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to see the Minnesota Wild take on the St. Louis Blues February 27 at the Xcel Energy Center.

Organizers say to date more than 31,000 veterans and military spouses have found employment through “Hiring Our Heroes” events.
