Friday, the Vikes play the Seahawks at U-S Bank. Friday and Saturday, it's the Big Ten, A-C-C Volleyball Challenge at Target Center. And the Twins take on the Oakland Athletics at Target Field in a series that runs Friday through Sunday.

MINNEAPOLIS - If you are heading to downtown Minneapolis this weekend, be perpared for A LOT of traffic.

Friday, the Vikes play the Seahawks at U-S Bank. Friday and Saturday, it's the Big Ten, A-C-C Volleyball Challenge at Target Center. And the Twins take on the Oakland Athletics at Target Field in a series that runs Friday through Sunday.

Also all weekend, the American Legion has its 100th national convention at the Convention Center, and there's a parade Sunday evening on Nicollet Mall.

And, yeah, sorry, there are road closures.

But here are the *open freeway connections going into Downtown.

If you're coming from 35-W north:

  • Take the Third Street/Washington Avenue exit.
  • You can also get off on Washington coming from 35-W South.
  • On 94 east, the 4th Street exit is open.
  • So are the 7th and11th street exits going westbound on 94.

Here's what's open getting out of Downtown:

  • You can take Fourth Street to get on 35-W South -- but it wil be closed Friday afternoon and evening for the Vikings game.
  • Alternatively, you can take Washington Avenue.
  • Same if you want to go North on 35 W.For 94 East, get on, on 6th Street.
  • And for 94 West and 394 West, you can take 3rd Street.

Here's a suggestion... you might want to take a little patience with you too.
