Search called of for missing Minnesota man in Texas

We should find out today if the body found in the Colorado River in Texas is that of a missing Minneapolis man. Authorities called off the search for Christopher White yesterday afternoon after the body of a young man was found right across from the area where White was last seen in Austin, Texas. White, 25, was there attending a festival with friends. He had apparently been drinking and left their rental home without his keys, wallet or shoes early Saturday morning.

Amazon hiring in Brooklyn Park

Amazon is planning to hire 450 permanent workers for a new fulfillment center in Brooklyn Park set to open this fall. It will be Amazon's fourth facility in Minnesota, The first was in Shakopee in 2016. The Brooklyn Park location will be housed in an existing building near Highway 169 and 93rd Avenue. That's different from a proposed fulfillment center that was rejected by the Brooklyn Park planning commission last month.

Facebook home device

Facebook wants to put a camera and microphone in your home. The social media company is launching a device called "Portal" and it's intended to make video calls easier. Facebook's two billion users could chat with one another without having to fuss with positioning and other controls because the device features a camera that uses artificial intelligence to automatically pan and zoom as people move around during calls. It goes on sale next month starting at $200.

Hurricane Michael is preparing to hit the gulf coast as early as Wednesday as a possible category 3 hurricane. People are frantically boarding up homes, filling sandbags and planning evacuation routes away from the danger amid warnings of potential damage.

Kavanaugh is hearing first arguments as a Supreme Court justice

Brett Kavanaugh is hearing his first arguments as a Supreme Court justice. The justices are scheduled to hear two hours of arguments today. The cases they are hearing involve the Armed Career Criminal Act. The act enhances penalties for people previously convicted of violent felonies or serious drug offenses.
