SONOMENTO, MacPhail’s award-winning adult chamber choir of 40 voices is dedicated to performing the finest classical choral music, achieving high artistic standards and creating lasting musical friendships among its members.

The group rehearses on Monday nights from September through May and performs two to three major concerts a year. The ensemble is directed by Craig Fields and employs the ‘Westminster College Choir’ choral singing method, which encourages singers to produce a full-voiced, soloistic tone and to continually develop their individual singing voices.

In summer 2015, SONOMENTO toured Munich, Prague and Berlin and was awarded two silver medals at the International Brahms Choral Festival in Wernigerode, Germany. Next July, 2018, the choir will tour the British Isles and compete in the prestigious Eisteddfod Music Festival in Wales.
