GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - We all love a good dose of Minnesota Nice and an upcoming event will showcase just that. “Expanding Hope Through Music” is Saturday, March 10 from 4-7 p.m. at Famous Dave’s in Calhoun Square.
It’s an event to raise money for three local charities that exude kindness. House of Charity is a Minneapolis charity that provides services for the homeless, Sanya’s Hope for Children is a nonprofit started up by an 11-year-old Prior Lake girl dedicated to helping children who are experiencing poverty and homelessness and Sigma’s Bookshelf is a publishing company started by a Minnetonka teenager that helps other teen writers become published authors with all services 100% free for the kids.
Lori Myren Manbeck, president of Inclusive-tee, stopped by the KARE 11 studios to talk about why this event is so important.
Inclusivi-tee has a mission to promote social and environmental justice through the sale of beautiful, wearable art, and will also be celebrating the launch of its new Kindness Collection at the event.
The musical lineup for the event will be:
Dan Israel, 4p – 4:45p
Mari Harris, 4:45p – 5:30p
Marv Werth, 5:30p – 6:15p
Rare Pharoahs, 6:15p – 7p
Tickets are $10 to get in, and there will be a raffle featuring great prizes, such as a beer tasting from Nutmeg Brewery, a bag of artist-designed t-shirts from Inclusivi-tee, books by Sigma’s Bookshelf authors with a bookbag from Sanya’s Hope for Children, tickets to an upcoming Maker’s Market, a Superball jacket, and other items donated by local merchants.
