GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Have you been thinking about finding a new job or just curious about what's out there? Ted Chalupsky, president of The Right Staff says it is still a good time to find many opportunities.
According to Chalupsky, the job outlook seems to indicate that the job market will continue to be strong in the coming months and into the new year. He recommends checking out current job postings on the websites of companies you have an interest in working for or contact a professional employment services company to view a wider variety of companies and job postings available. You may be pleasantly surprised to find a position that opens up a whole world of new opportunities.
Chalupsky expects the fourth quarter of 2016 to be one of the toughest recruiting environments we've seen in many years. Now is the time many local companies are refining their recruiting strategy to win the battle of finding the right people for their open positions.
The Right Staff recently conducted a survey of regional employers and found some interesting information about what business executives and owners expect for the months ahead:
1. Employers seem confident in the direction of the economy (even in light of Brexit, China, ISIS and the upcoming USA elections) and are looking to increase hiring new employees on a direct hire basis.
2. More employers are looking to convert temporary and contract employees to full time status on their company payroll.
3. Many employers are reviewing wage structure and are considering increases to stay competitive (or to lead the market) in order to obtain and retain the best talent.
4. These companies are incorporating planned wage increases into their budgeting and sales pricing strategy for 2017. Expect inflationary pressures to increase in the marketplace.
