Thousands to walk at MOA to raise support and funds for Fraser

April is Autism Awareness Month.

PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Experts say an estimated one in 59 children in the United States is diagnosed with autism.

On Saturday, April 13, 2019, thousands of people will walk at the Mall of America in Bloomington to raise awareness. Fraser Walk for Autism is from 7 to 9:30 a.m. The mall-wide event is open to the public.

The annual family-friendly walk is filled with sensory friendly activities, therapy animals including llamas, mascots, games, prizes and giveaways. All participants receive breakfast. The official Fraser Walk for Autism T-shirts will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Fraser is Minnesota’s largest and most experienced provider of autism services. It also provides services for children and adults with more than 60 different disabilities through health care, education and housing.

The Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe are officially Certified Autism Centers. The certification means that visitors and families with children who have autism and other sensory disorders can enjoy the best possible experience while visiting MOA that caters to their needs.
