Cocktails for Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day

Move over margaritas. Parlour's bar manager has his twist on the popular Paloma and Mint Julep.

ST. Paul, Minn. - Parlour restaurant is located at 267 W. 7th Street in St. Paul. Bar Manager Tim Kingstan shared his favorite recipes in honor of Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. Move over margaritas!

COCKTAIL RECIPES:

Paloma:

2 oz Reposado Tequila

.5 oz Lime Juice

3 oz Grapefruit Soda.

Rim a glass with chile salt, build all ingredients in the glass, add ice, and stir briefly. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Mint Julep:

1.5 oz Bourbon

.25 oz Rum, .25 oz Peach liqueur

2 teaspoons demerara syrup

8-10 mint leaves

Add mint and syrup to julep tin and gently press. Add remaining ingredients and crushed ice, stir

to combine. Continue adding ice and stirring until frost forms on julep tin. Garnish with mint bouquet and straw.
