GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Sometimes KARE in the Kitchen is all about a fancy recipe, top shelf ingredients and rare cooking talent.
This week... is not.
As a celebration of KARE photojournalist Kirk Duda and his pending departure for school and work in Florida, his pals Alicia Lewis and Ellery McCardle invited Duda into the studio to whip up his go-to comfort specialty, Pasta Kielbasa. The ingredients are as simple as a recipe can be.
- Tri-Color Pasta
- Pasta Sauce
- Kielbasa
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Fork
- Bowl
- Non-Stick Pam Spray
Cooking instructions
- Slice Kielbasa into coins. Duda suggests double-stuff oreo thickness.
- Spray PAM or another anti-stick product in a fry pan, and brown kielbasa coins.
- Boil pasta until firm
- Warm sauce in a pan
- Place pasta in bowl with a bit of sauce on, then kielbasa and cheese, then a bit more sauce on top.
- Enjoy the magic
Alicia gave 'Chef Duda's' creation the thumbs up, saying it's like an adult version of Chef Boyardee. Ellery was too busy to comment either way.
