It's one of my favorite times of the year when my favorite seed catalog arrives in the mail and I can start dreaming and planning what I will plant in this season's garden.

No matter if you're unfamiliar with seeds catalogs or you get six in the mail, you'll want to make a trip to the Anderson Horticultural Library at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. For 2019 alone they have more than 400 seeds catalogs for you to peruse. If you'd like some help finding a specific seed, plant or catalog a librarian is on staff to help you out.

If you're a history buff, the seed catalogs pre-date Bobby's career in the biz!\

When you're choosing and ordering pay attention to the number of days listed in the description. That pertains to the length of time it takes for produce the vegetable, fruit or flower. Here in much of Minnesota you want that number to be at or below 90 days. That ensures our growing season is long enough for the plant to mature and produce fruit before a frost ends the fun.

Let us know what you order! The opportunities are endless so try something new this year!
