Need date night ideas? MN-made 'Let's Go' app helps you find them

Valentine's Day is coming up and if you're still looking for date night ideas, a Minnesota startup has got you covered.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minnesota — A Minnesota-made app is helping couples find new date night experiences across the state.

"Let's Go" launched in April 2018 and was originally more of a dating app. But Founder and CEO Austin Bohlig said they decided to shift their focus.

"We realized after doing this for two years that the world had enough apps to help people find dates but what the world really needed was a better solution to help people build great relationships after they meet the right person," Bohlig said.

Let's Go has partnered with about 200 businesses across Minnesota, offering date night experiences and exclusive date night promotions that can save couples money.

"The biggest market is in the Twin Cities and central Minnesota, around St. Cloud. But we did launch in Duluth and are going to be expanding to Rochester later this quarter," Bohlig said.

Bohlig said they eventually want to expand throughout the Midwest, then nationwide.

Mitch Bebus, cofounder and director of partnerships, met his now fiancée through the app. They now use Let's Go to plan date nights.

Bebus said they're always looking for new businesses to feature; it's free for businesses to highlight their date night spots on the app. Any businesses interested can apply, here

"After two years, I'll find things that are right in our backyard that have been there that we didn't know existed. So that's what's great about Let's Go... it helps you kind of filter through a lot of that stuff. And you can find things that are less than five miles away that you didn't even know were there," Bebus said.

The app is free to use but users that want to save a bit more money can sign up for the premium version. Subscribers pay $3 per month or $18 each year.

For example, Victoria Burrow offers a deal for mini golf for two, two beers and a 16 in. pizza for $40 for those subscribed to the premium version.

"It kind of helps you get out of that maybe comfort zone of going to the same restaurants, the same movie theater," Bebus said.

Bohlig added, "Everything's crafted. You don't have to think about it. Just show up and start having some fun."

Users can also get part of their Valentine's Day date night covered through the Let's Go influencer program. Users sign up through the app, pick something to do, take a picture of it on social media and Let's Go will reimburse part of the cost. You can also email datenight@letsgoapp.co to learn more.
