Valleyfair looking to hire 1,600 for 2023 season

A hiring event set for Feb. 18 to 24 is designed to fill openings for ride operators, lifeguards, security and food and beverage workers.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — While it feels like we are buried in the midst of a tough Minnesota winter, the good stuff - warm temps, blue skies and sunshine - is mere months away.

Valleyfair is preparing for its 2023 season, which opens in May, by staging a hiring event to fill 1,600 openings. The week-long campaign, which runs from Feb. 18 to 24, aims to find job seekers to fill positions from ride operators and lifeguards to food service workers and security.

Candidates that are at least 16 years old can make between $17 and $20 per hour based on job description and prior experience. Wages for workers who are 14 and 15 depend on position.

“Our seasonal associates play an important role in our mission of delivering the best day ever to all of our guests,” said Raul Rehnborg, general manager. “We’re proud to offer highly competitive wages and amazing perks, as well as a culture of fun at Valleyfair. I can’t wait to showcase the skills, talents, and character of our associates as part of the Valleyfair family this year.”

Applicants are encouraged to fill out an application online, and Valleyfair will follow up to schedule an interview. Job seekers could be hired on the spot.

Some perks and benefits offered for those who work at Valleyfair:

  • Paid Training and FREE Uniforms
  • FREE Admission to Valleyfair and other Cedar Fair parks
  • Free tickets for friends and family
  • 25% discounts on Food and 25% discounts on merchandise
