WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Money doesn't always equal happiness, but researchers from Purdue University and the University of Virginia think they've found the ideal salary to find the perfect balance between work and life.

That magic number is $95,000, researchers said.

If you can't make that much, the study suggests earning $60,000-$75,000 lends to emotional well-being.

For comparison, the average household income in the U.S. is about $65,000.
