FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. -- Tuesday marks 100 days until the Minnesota State Fair.
"Can't believe it's only 100 days away," said Christine Noonan, marketing and advertising supervisor at the Minnesota State Fair.
Noonan said they've been getting ready for this year's fair, since the last day of the 2017 fair.
So far, fair officials have announced the complete 2018 Grandstand lineup.
"Next up we're going to be announcing all of our free stage entertainment. That's 900 shows by 100+ acts over 12 days and nights and that announcement will be coming within the next few weeks," Noonan said.
New foods will be announced some time in mid to late June, followed by new attractions in July.
The fair's big construction project of the year is a new restroom on the fairgrounds' north end. According to Noonan, it's going to have 54 stalls plus 18 family restrooms.
That's good news for Giggles' Campfire Grill. Employee Sonja Morgan was at the fairgrounds Monday afternoon, getting Giggles' ready for future events.
"The one they built down here a couple years ago is great but this one's even closer too. It's needed," Morgan said. "The fair is always changing. There's always improvements being done."
Besides construction on a new restroom, Noonan said they are also reconfiguring the Pet Center and Pet Pavilion.
"The Pet Center building itself is going to become the new home of a great food and drink and entertainment establishment. Then the dog exhibit booths, the outdoor demonstration area, and all the great merchandise booths that were located in the Pet Center, are going to move to the new Pet Pavilion area also up on the north end," Noonan explained.
Tickets are already on sale for the fair. The pre-fair discount admission tickets cost $11.
The Great Minnesota Get-Together is August 23-Labor Day, Sept. 3.
