2 charged in robbery, shooting of Mpls. musician

Hennepin County prosecutors have charged a man and woman in a string of armed robberies and the shooting of a Minneapolis musician last week.

MINNEAPOLIS - A man and a woman have been arrested and charged in a string of armed robberies and the shooting of a Minneapolis musician last week.

Prosecutors have charged Jonell Butler and Natalie Nicole Box with multiple aggravated robbery charges and one count of second degree assault in robberies on September 8th, October 5th and October 6th.

On October 5th, keyboardist and singer Aaron "Hix" Lee, from the band Red Daughters, was with his girlfriend at 13th Avenue Northeast and 4th Street Northeast when they were robbed at gunpoint.

Police say Hix was shot in the stomach. survived, but according to a GoFundMe page, he'll be in the hospital, potentially for weeks.

Additional charges are expected for Butler and Box.

They are in custody at the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.
