SHAKOPEE, Minn. — A new summer music festival is filling out its 2019 debut lineup with some star power.
Organizers of Twin Cities Summer Jam revealed headliners Aerosmith, Pitbull, Rascal Flatts and REO Speedwagon to go along with the previously announced Tim McGraw. They say the 3-day music festival, set for July 18, 19 and 20 at Canterbury Park, is the only one in the upper Midwest to combine the varied musical formats of rock, pop and country every night.
TC Summer Jam opens Thursday with the country favorites and classic hits of headliner Rascal Flatts, which follow classic rockers REO Speedwagon. Friday night rock icons Aerosmith headline the main stage with a special guest still to be announced as their opener.
The Festival wraps up Saturday with country superstar Tim McGraw as headliner, following international Hiphop and rap artist Pitbull. McGraw and Pitbull have previously collaborated on a national TV special, but will be performing in concert on the same stage for the very first time. Newcomers, Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers will warm up.
In all 12 bands will play the main stage with several more local and nationally emerging bands performing on a second stage in the Canterbury Park infield. The venue can accommodate more than 25,000 fans each night.
Tickets for TC Summer Jam go on sale March 1 at 10 a.m., and are available only on the festival website. Pricing will be announced the same day tickets go on sale.
