CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Have you ever poured yourself a glass of wine (or two) and found yourself browsing Amazon? You're not alone.
A new study shows Americans, individually, spend about $450 a year shopping while buzzed. That's $30 billion total!
Can you guess what the number one item is when it comes to drunk shopping? Food!
"Second to that is shoes and accessories," said Jennifer McDermott of Finder.com. "So an item that might not be your style under a sober state of mind but sounds like a great idea after you've had a couple drinks."
Another surprising finding - men are actually spending double the amount that women are spending when shopping under the influence. They average about $564 compared to women, who spend an average of $282.
Some of the other popular purchases include clothes, gambling and even concert tickets.
So, how can we curb this problem? One idea is to put your phone down when you get home. Maybe go to sleep and start over - sober - in the morning!
