ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. - If you were hoping to get your hands on a new venison sandwich from Arby's ... unfortunately, you're out of luck.
The much-anticipated hunting season special sold out in just 15 minutes at its St. Louis Park location -- and it didn't take long for the other Minnesota locations to follow suit. By 11:15 a.m., they were all gone. Friday marked the first day of the chain's new promotion.
Arby's only sold the venison sandwich at four local restaurants -- two in St. Cloud, one in Cloquet and one in St. Louis Park, the only Twin Cities location.
An employee that answered the phone at the St. Louis Park location said they only had 70 sandwiches to sell -- so it didn't take long before they were all taken.
Arby's offered the venison sandwiches in six states where deer hunting is popular. The Atlanta-based chain says its sandwich includes thick-cut venison steak and crispy onions on a roll.
Nashville was the first to offer the sandwich and also saw an immediate sell out.
