BBB alert for online car buyers

The BBB is now aware of three suspect entities, but they are concerned there may be more.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Better Business Bureau is warning consumers shopping for vehicles online to be on alert if the seller suggests using a third party to handle the transaction.

Based on information provided by BBB St. Louis and a concerned area business owner, our BBB is now aware of three suspect entities: Yellow Shippers, Bismarck Shippers and Dakota Auto Shipping, with websites claiming physical addresses in North Dakota, all of which are believed to be involved in a nationwide scheme.

The concern is there are other websites claiming to be located here in Minnesota the BBB may not know about.
