Global Arts Plus students "share the love"

Teachers put out card making supplies, and students wrote to different businesses and first responders.

ST PAUL, Minn. — Global Arts Plus students in Saint Paul had a chance during lunch to say thanks.

“We are sharing the love today,” said Mary Kasper, the Cultural Specialist at Global Arts Plus.

Teachers put out card making supplies, and students wrote to different businesses and first responders.

“I’m going to say thank you for putting out the fires,” said one fifth grader, writing a thank you letter to the Saint Paul Fire Department.

“I’m saying thank you to the custodians and lunch people,” wrote another student.

“I think it’s really important for students to haver their voices heard to say ‘Thank you,’ and it’s always important for the community to see that we really care about them,” said Kasper.

One fifth grader wrote to a local coffee shop.  He says he drinks his coffee with cream and sugar.

“In the snow you can drink coffee, and it helps me warm up,” he explained.

Dozens of students made their own thank you cards.

“I hope that the community also appreciates us as much as we appreciate them,” said Kasper.
