Hands On Twin Cities Volunteering Opportunity for the Month: Stable Pathways

Looking to volunteer this April? Join Hands On Twin Cities' mission to help provide therapeutic horseback riding for people with disabilities.

MINNEAPOLIS — During the month of March, Hands On Twin Cities invites local community volunteers to support Stable Pathways.

Volunteers will have a chance to walk alongside the therapeutic riding horses and support the riders living with disabilities (Age 15+). Hands On Twin Cities lays out a full April and May schedule and a sign-up link, here.

Hands On Twin Cities, celebrating 100 years of service in 2019, is the Twin Cities only full service volunteer center.

Hands On Twin Cities both promotes and facilitates volunteerism while improving the community’s ability to create more impact with the time generously given by volunteers.

We work with all types of volunteers, companies and nonprofit affiliates to ensure that every hour spent in the community is valuable.

We inspire, equip and mobilize people to provide hands on impact to solve the most pressing challenges in our communities.

Stable Pathways' Mission: to empower, strengthen, and inspire those living with disabilities through horse-assisted activities. Stable Pathways offers horse-assisted programs so all types of people can experience the benefits of horses. For a rider, the movement of the horse can improve balance, muscle tone, flexibility, core strength, focus, and coordination; a person working with a horse on the ground will learn patience and experience increased self-esteem through that relationship.

We welcome enthusiastic, dependable volunteers, 15 years old and up, to participate in our therapeutic riding program. You don’t need to know anything about horses or people living with disabilities to be part of our team – we will train you! You will work directly with our riders – encouraging them to try, watching out for their safety, cheering on small and big achievements! Our riders look forward to seeing you each week; and you’ll look forward to seeing them, too! Of course, you will also have hands-on horse time and will learn why horses are the reason for our program’s success. We hope you will join us in this important work!
