GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Kids ‘n Kinship offers friendships and positive role models to children and youth ages 5 to 16 who are in need of an additional supportive relationship with an adult.
They are looking for volunteers (individuals, families, or couples) at least 21 years or older to serve as mentors.
Volunteer mentors get together with their match mentee for an hour or two each week participating in low or no cost activities.
They also offer school-based programs if volunteers are available during the week day.
School-based mentors meet with their mentee during the school day for 1-2 hours a week to help with school work or engage in a fun learning activity.
Volunteers are asked to fulfill at least a one year commitment and go through an initial training, then yearly after they become a volunteer.
Additional volunteers are needed for quarterly events in the Dakota County area.
If you are interested in volunteering, visit the Kids ‘n Kinship website to find out more about mentoring, review children looking for mentors, and sign up for an information session.
