MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis pizza delivery driver continues to recover after being shot in the heart.

Andrew Gryskiewicz celebrated his 31st birthday Sunday. A week ago, it's a birthday he almost never had.

On July 23, Gryskiewicz was making his last delivery of the night for Dulono's Pizza in the area of East 31st Street and 3rd Avenue South. That's where someone shot him in the shoulder. The bullet went through his lung and heart and lodged in his liver.

He was found in his car slumped over and was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center where he went into surgery.

A week later, Gryskiewicz is expected to soon be released from the hospital.

"Makes me appreciate life yeah for sure," he said. "Makes me want to try harder like I got a second chance."

"I think he's very humble speaking about this because every breath he takes, is a miracle," said Andrea Castro, Gryskiewicz girlfriend.

No one has been arrested and Minneapolis police continue to ask that anyone with information to come forward.
