ST PAUL, Minn. — A former Hamline student has been sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison for raping another student.

According to the criminal complaint, Pierce Heston, now 25, ran into the victim at a party on May 14, 2016. When she left, he told her he wanted to walk her back to her dorm because he had promised his sister that he would make sure she got home safely.

She told investigators that he then followed her into her room and admitted he had lied about his reason for going with her. She said he began to kiss her and she told him "no." She told investigators he then forced her to perform sex and raped her.
