Man arrested after hours-long stand-off with SWAT in Sauk Centre

Police learned a 9-year-old was also in the residence, but were able to get the child out of the house.

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. — A man has been arrested after an hours-long stand-off in Sauk Centre Sunday.

Officers received a call from a female victim who said she had been assaulted by her husband earlier in the morning.

Officers responded and a long stand-off ensued with the 27-year-old suspect.

Police learned there was a 9-year-old in the residence with the suspect, but the child was successfully released from the residence at noon.

Negotiations continued with the suspect who fired one shot out of the residence that hit an armored vehicle that was occupied by multiple SWAT officers. According to officials, the shot hit the vehicle in the area of the driver's side door. No officers were injured.

At around 2:20 p.m., the suspect surrendered, came out of the residence and was arrested. 

The suspect was taken to Stearns County Jail and booked on charges of multiple charges. 

The woman and the juvenile were not injured.
