Mpls. police need help identifying bank robbery suspect

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a bank robbery suspect who robbed a Wells Fargo bank earlier this month.

Police say the suspect robbed the Wells Fargo, located at 4943 34th Ave. S. in Minneapolis, shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12.

The suspect threatened the bank's staff with a weapon which was never seen, according to a news release.

Police described the suspect as an "adult male, possibly mixed race, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, mid 20's to late 30's with facial hair (fake or real) present at the time of the robbery."

Anyone with information is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).  Tips may also be submitted at www.crimestoppersmn.org.  All tips are anonymous and persons providing information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a financial reward, according to the news release.
