MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating a fatal shooting Thursday afternoon in north Minneapolis.
According to Minneapolis police, officers responded to reports of a shooting just before 3 p.m. The victim, an adult male, was located in the area of North 21st Avenue and North 4th Street and transported to a local hospital where he later died.
On Sunday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 34-year-old Larry Borteh of Brooklyn Center. Authorities say he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police say no arrests have been made but a man was detained for questioning.
This is the 28th homicide in Minneapolis in 2020, according to a news release.
