Police investigating homicide in south Minneapolis

When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man with gunshot wounds deceased inside the residence.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating a homicide after responding to a report of shots fired Sunday.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Troy DeWayne Brant, by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Brant died due to multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death has been ruled as homicide, according to the Medical Examiner.

Police said the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Portland Avenue South.

When officers arrived, they found Brant deceased inside the residence.

No suspects have been located, and there is nobody is in custody yet.

Officials are processing the scene for evidence.
