The woman described the suspect as white, about 6 feet tall with a thin build, wearing a blue hoodie and blue sweatpants.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the man.

Part of the investigation is to see if this incident is linked to other recent crimes in the area, which is a popular neighborhood for college students.

Minneapolis Police are investigating after an attempted abduction-sexual assault was reported Thursday morning in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood.

Minneapolis Police officers were seen going door to door in the neighborhood Thursday afternoon, talking with residents about the attack and asking them whether they'd seen or heard anything. U of M student and neighborhood resident Tessa Burger found out about the assault, which happened near her home, when the University sent her a text alert.

“When it’s like, oh, that’s my street. That’s terrifying,” Burger told KARE 11's Jennifer Austin.

Concerned about Thursday's incident and others that have happened in recent days, the Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association has called a Crime and Safety meeting for Monday, September 16, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 500 8th Avenue SE. Representatives from the Minneapolis Police 2nd Precinct and other city officials will be on hand to discuss these recent crimes and take resident questions.
