ST PAUL, Minn. — The St. Paul Police Department issued an overdose alert on Saturday after a sharp increase in overdoses "over the past 24 hours," according to their Facebook post.
Six people were sent to the hospital because of three incidents in a two and a half-hour span.
Some of the people using the drugs thought they were using cocaine, but police suspect another substance like fentanyl may have been mixed in.
Police want to remind the public that under the Minnesota Good Samaritan law, you can not be prosecuted for seeking medical help for someone overdosing.
