MINNEAPOLIS — Law enforcement is investigating a pair of robberies that took place Tuesday night near the U of M campus.

The first incident triggered a public safety alert from U of M Police. A robbery took place around 7:30 p.m. on the 10th Street Bridge when the suspects approached a woman and stole her scooter. Minneapolis Police say the second robbery happened shortly after that when three young males on electric scooters rode up to a 20-year-old man near the 10th Street Bridge and demanded his cell phone. The victim complied, and his assailants rode off.

The suspect descriptions are similar in both cases. They are described as African American males ranging from 12-15 years old. The first suspect wore a red sweatshirt and black shorts. The second suspect wore a white sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes while the third teen simply wore dark clothing.

Anyone with information on those responsible is asked to call either Minneapolis or U of M Police.
