MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred with two children inside.
According to officials, a father ran inside a school on the 1100 block of 19th Street East to pick up his children when someone hopped in the car and drove off with his two other children, a 3-year-old and a 9-month-old, still inside.
Police say the vehicle was found shortly after it was reported stolen at 24th St. and Chicago Ave. with the children inside. Both children are safe with no major injuries, according to police.
Officials say the father left the vehicle running, and then the suspect jumped inside and drove off.
No arrests have been made.
