A Delta jet takes off at LaGuardia Airport, August 8, 2016 in the Queens borough of New York City. Delta flights around the globe were grounded and delayed on Monday morning due to a system outage.

Delta Air Lines travelers ran into technical problems at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Wednesday night.

Travelers had to stand in long lines as a technical glitch caused delays at MSP and around the country.

Travelers could not book flights, check in or board planes.

Delta released a statement a short time ago that the problem is fixed.

According to MSP's spokesman Pat Hogan, earlier tonight there were eight outbound flights delayed and at last check it is now at four.

Delta apologized for the inconvenience -- adding they are working quickly to return operations to normal.
