NEW HOPE, Minn. - The Robbinsdale Public School district is investigating a bizarre incident involving a substitute teacher that took place in an elementary classroom Friday.

Superintendent Carleton Jenkins sent a message home to parents and families about what happened at Noble Elementary. Jenkins says a female substitute entered another classroom unannounced and 'relieved' herself in front of a group of young students. The superintendent did not elaborate on exactly what 'relieved' actually means.

Jenkins says there have been no reports about students being harmed during the incident, but school psychologists and social workers are being made available for students and staff members who might need help processing what happened.

The principal of Noble Elementary worked with the administration to immediately remove the substitute and notify authorities. On Monday Golden Valley Police said they are looking into the possibility what happened involved a medical issue.
