EAGAN, Minn. - A 5-year-old boy is in the hospital after police say he was pulled from an apartment pool late Tuesday morning.

Just before 10:30 a.m., police were called to the Foxridge Estates Apartments in Eagan regarding a possible drowning. They arrived to find a construction worker performing CPR on the boy near an outdoor swimming pool. The boy was rushed to Regions Hospital.

He was listed in serious condition, as of Tuesday.

Police say it appears the boy and his three-year-old sister were home in a nearby apartment with their mother. At some point, the two kids unknowingly left and walked to the fenced-in and locked pool. Police are not sure how the boy got inside but believe he may have climbed the fence then somehow entered the water.

Construction workers nearby heard the girl's cries for help and pulled the boy from the pool. It's unknown how long the boy was in the pool.

Eagan Police continue to investigate the incident.
