Cancer resources for caregivers and patients

Here are just a few resources to help caregivers and those facing cancer.

GOLDEN VALLY, Minn. - After being diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin’s Disease in 1998 Randy Shaver underwent treatment for five months and went into remission. He created the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund in 2003 to support the cancer community in Minnesota by funding research, prevention, treatment and other programs relating to the cancer community’s needs.

There are many online resources for cancer patients and caregivers. Here are just a few to get you started:

The American Cancer Society Minnesota has hundreds of resources and information about different kinds of cancers, caregiver resources, insurance information, preventative measures and more. They also have a cancer helpline at 1-800-227-2345.
