How to cut heating costs this winter

That means people all over our area are cranking up their furnaces and, for many, utility bills are on the rise. Home heating expert Josh Savage with Hero Plumbing, Heating & Cooling joined KARE 11 to share some tips to help homeowners and renters heat their homes as safely and efficiently as possible.

Tips range from money-saving investments like programmable thermostats and additional insulation to simple steps like shutting vents in unused rooms, and entering and exiting a home through double doors if possible.

With a priority on safety, Josh also highlights the importance of carbon monoxide detectors and regular furnace tune-ups.
