In a 'House Divided,' football is family's common thread

The Vikings and Packers rivalry is one of the best in sports, but what happens when your "rival" lives under the same roof?

ANDOVER, Minn. - Will Ganje has been a diehard Vikings fan since he was a kid. His wife Dani has also been a diehard fan for the same amount of time - except, she roots for the Packers.

It's what we like to call a "house divided."

"When it's Vikings and Packers, we're kind of separated [on the couch], we have a little bit of space and we're just cheering for our own team," said Will.

The Ganje's met when they were students at UW-La Crosse. They were friends, but something sparked when...and this is true...Brett Favre joined the Vikings.

"We didn't really find out about each other's passion until 2009 when Brett Favre joined the Minnesota Vikings," said Will. "Brett Favre kind of..."

"Brought us together!" Dani said, finishing his thought.

Will and Dani have two children, who haven't quite decided yet who they're going to root for.

"[Our son] will go from one sentence saying 'Go Vikings' to 'Go Pack Go' in the next sentence," said Dani.

"I think he's saying 'No Pack No,'" said Will.

No matter who they're cheering on, one thing is certain: the Ganje's are big fans of the game of football. Even though Dani said she hopes both her children will end up backing the green and gold.

"In the end, just the love of football does bond us," Dani said. "I know it's super cheesy, but it's true. We both love football and we both love our teams, and that's never going to change."
