GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - KARE 11 has won eight Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2018.
The RTDNA announced the winners on Wednesday. KARE won in the following categories:
- Overall Excellence – KARE staff
- Excellence in Writing – Boyd Huppert
- Excellence in Video – Playing His Dues (Chad Nelson, Ferlon Webster, Jeff Wiltgen, Jason Steussy, Adam Jukkola and Boyd Huppert)
- Excellence in Sound – Lucy Laney Picture Day (Ben Garvin)
- Sports Reporting – Zamboni Boy (Boyd Huppert and Chad Nelson)
- Investigative Reporting – Double Billing the Badge (A.J. Lagoe, Gary Knox, Steve Eckert, Rob Collett, Carly Danek, Ferlon Webster)
- News Series – A Pattern of Denial (Steve Eckert, A.J. Lagoe, Gary Knox and Kevin Sullivan)
- News Documentary – Double Billing the Badge (Gary Knox, A.J. Lagoe, Steve Eckert, Rob Collett, Carly Danek, Ferlon Webster)
The regional Murrow winners automatically advance to the national Edward R. Murrow Awards competition. Those winners will be announced in June.
