ST PAUL, Minn. — 19-year-old Amy Kyllo of Byron has taken the throne as the 66th Princess Kay of the Milky Way at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
She surpassed nine other competitors to claim the crown, and will serve as goodwill ambassador for nearly 3,000 dairy farm families across Minnesota.
During her one year reign, her task will be to connect Minnesotans to the dairy community through guest appearances, classroom visits and speaking engagements.
Kyllo will have her likeness sculpted out of a 90-pound block of butter during the first two days of the State Fair - Aug. 22 to Aug. 23.
The 66th princess will also make State Fair appearances at the Butter Sculpture Booth in the Dairy Building, at the Moo Booth in the Dairy Barn and at the CHS Miracle of Birth Center.
