Over the weekend, a first for Minneapolis Public Schools graduation ceremonies.
It came by way of Ahmed Ali, a 21-year-old student in the district who graduated from the Transitions Plus Program.
The mission of Transition Plus is to provide services to students with educational disabilities and transition needs in post-secondary education and training, employment, and independent living to promote a successful transition from high school to adult life. Ali was chosen to give his program's commencement speech.
And the way he did it, was an extraordinary, first.
