MINNEAPOLIS — Southwest High School is making some sweet music is Guitar Education Teacher, Ruth LeMay’s classroom.
Beyond the traditional curriculum, LeMay saw a disconnect, in teaching music to differently abled students.
And so, she made changes.
And now? More than a dozen differently abled students are playing instruments in her class, all due to a way of teaching she wants to share with educators everywhere.
But in order to do that, at the National Association of Music Education convention in Orlando this Fall, Ruth and her team needs to raise the money to go.
Here is the story of how she teaches, with some of her students.
There is a GoFundMe for 3 Strings to get to the Convention in Orlando later this year.
