The Department aims to provide residents and vulnerable groups of people in Cleveland, like seniors and people with chronic health conditions, with face coverings. 36,000 of the masks were donated from Until We Do It, Inc. and the other 10,000 were donated from University Hospitals, the depatment said in a press release.

"Until We Do It has distributed over 500,000 masks, including over 100,000 to Native American tribes on reservations in the Southwest, 100,000 to rural Alabama, and over 100,000 to help protect all those marching against racial inequity in cities like Chicago, Washington D.C., Houston and Atlanta," the press release states.

University Hospitals' CEDI program promotes and implements inclusive, equitable and diverse programs in line with their company mission: "To Heal. To Teach. To Discover."
