STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. — A driver was uninjured after his SUV struck and killed a cow in a rural Stearns County pasture over the weekend.

According to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff, the 31-year-old Eden Valley man was driving a Cadillac Escalade on County Road 9 around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, when another vehicle pulled out in front of him at the intersection with County Road 21. The Escalade driver swerved to avoid a collision and ended up traveling into a ditch and small pasture, where his vehicle struck a cow.

The cow died from its injuries. The driver did not need medical attention, according to the release; investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
