, Minn. - Friends really can be lifesavers.

Around 9:30 p.m. on June 15 police say 16-year-old Daniel Fleigle was at the old Sartell Bridge with friends. He reportedly climbed to the top of the bridge and was walking across when he grabbed a live wire, was electrically shocked, and pluged 30 feet to the bridge decking below.

Fleigle's friends called 911 and a dispatcher was able to walk them through on how to perform CPR until medics arrived. Medics were able to restart Fleigle's heart, then rushed him to St. Cloud and later airlifted him to Hennepin County Medical Center.

On Thursday Fleigle was reported in satisfactory condition after being admitted as critical.

"Danny and his family want to thank his caregivers at HCMC and St. Cloud Hospital as well as their community, family and friends for their prayers and amazing support," HCMC said in a statement.
