Holiday delivery woes continue with four days left until Christmas

Some people say their packages have been held up at a FedEx facility for several days.

ROGERS, Minn. — The holidays can be a little bit stressful especially for those who are still waiting for their gifts to arrive. With only four days left until Christmas, several online shoppers say their packages are stranded at the Rogers, Minn. FedEx facility.

For people like Kait Sewell, they put in their orders weeks ago. Sewell said she saw a good deal for a Christmas tree on Wayfair.

"It was Black Friday, I definitely wanted to order a new tree," Sewell said. "We just moved into a new house and I was like we can decorate for Christmas!"

With a little less than a month left till Christmas, Sewell ordered her tree.

"I had my estimated delivery date of December 5th," she explained. "December 7th rolled around, still no tree."

She said she missed the first delivery that FedEx attempted, and they left a door tag saying that the delivery required a signature. She said she wasn't aware that she had put any signature requirements on the package but it was too late. Her package went into limbo at the sorting facility in Rogers.

It's in Rogers where her package stayed for nine more days. She said she left messages to have her information forwarded to the manager at the Rogers facility. She didn't hear anything back until she saw that her tree had been shipped to a local FedEx office.

"It was very damaged," said Sewell describing the state of her box when she went to pick it up. "The FedEx employees there actually asked me if we wanted to even take it with us because it was so damaged."

It wasn't until she arrived back home and opened up the box that she found out it was the wrong tree from Wayfair.

"They decided to ship us out a new tree and then that one got delayed also," she said. "Even though it was expedited shipping, I got a notification saying that they weren't going to deliver it because of weather."

She said she was confused because the weather in Minnesota had been nice the past few days. Her tracking information showed the new tree go from the Rogers facility back to the Rogers facility by the end of the day. Sewell said she spent 2/3 of December, waiting for her tree.

"I got notified that it was delivered," Sewell said, describing her day yesterday. "I checked my front porch and it wasn't there and they had delivered it to the neighbors house. So it was icing on the cake."

She said had she heard from anyone at FedEx, the whole ordeal wouldn't have been so painful.

"Transparency is always better I think," Sewell said. "It bridges a more trusting relationship but if it's going to be delayed, just tell me why. I don't care."

In the end, Sewell got her tree and Christmas was saved, with four days to spare.
