BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — One person is recovering from smoke inhalation after a stubborn house fire overnight in Brooklyn Park.

Crews were dispatched to a house on the 7100 block of Kentucky Avenue North around midnight after reports of a fire inside a bedroom. A woman and her child were home at the time. One of them were taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation, but fire officials would not specify who.

The flames were extinguished, but fire rigs were sent back around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after the fire rekindled. Video from the scene showed firefighters working on the eves and roof of the home. The rekindled flames were quickly put down.

At this point investigators are still trying to pinpoint the cause of the original fire.
