SHOREVIEW, Minn. - Looking for a place to escape the cold? There's a new spot to get a taste of the tropics without leaving the state.

Bamboo Bay, an indoor waterpark expansion at the Shoreview Community Center, is now complete. The 7,000-square-foot space will open to the public at noon on Saturday.

The new space features more than 40 different interactive water elements, including sprayers, sprinklers, dumping buckets, a tunnel slide and twin racing slides. There's also an area for smaller kiddos with a little waterslide bridge, water spouts and more.

The entire pool area is 18 inches deep and includes a zero-depth entry, making the space best suited for kids ages 10 and under.
